Is There a Gmail Fax Extension?

The short answer is no. Google hasn't developed add-ons to fax with your Gmail account.  But don't worry, we have good news.

You can still add fax functionalities to Gmail by using a third-party online fax provider.

An online fax service enables you to receive and send a fax from an email instead of a traditional fax machine. To send a fax, you compose an email and enter the recipient's fax number followed by the domain of the fax service provider. Attach the documents you want to fax, and when you hit send, the online fax service converts the attachments into a fax format and delivers it to the recipient's fax machine.

Incoming faxes are received by the email to fax service, converted into a digital format, and forwarded to your email as an attachment, typically a PDF file. This allows you to conveniently access and print faxes without a physical fax machine.

Are There Other Types of Fax Extensions for Google?

Although there are no add-ons fro Gmail, you can find extensions for Google Docs and Google Drive, with services such as eFax or RingCentral Fax.

With a fax add-on for Google Drive, users can select documents stored in their Drive and send them as faxes without the need for a physical fax machine or a separate fax service. The add-on typically provides a simple and user-friendly interface within Google Drive, allowing users to input the recipient's fax number, add a cover page if needed, and initiate the fax transmission. The add-on then converts the selected documents into a fax format and sends them to the recipient's fax machine.

Additionally, fax add-ons for Google Drive often provide features for receiving faxes. Incoming faxes can be automatically saved as digital files within the user's Drive account, making it easy to access and organize received faxes alongside other files and documents.

A limited amount of services also offer add-ons for Google Chrome, but they are linked in the same way to Google Drive.
