MetroFax vs eFax

Metrofax vs eFax review

Both MetroFax and eFax offer excellent online fax services with secure transmission, user-friendly interfaces, and HIPAA compliance. In general, eFax does a better job at faxing than MetroFax, with useful features that make faxing a breeze and perhaps the best smartphone fax app in the market right now. But this comes at a higher monthly price.

Let's take a deeper look at their differences.

Security Features

The security of your faxed documents is of utmost importance. MetroFax and eFax both offer secure transmission and storage of faxes. They use encryption to protect your data, ensuring that it remains confidential and safe from unauthorized access.

Usability

When it comes to user experience, both MetroFax and eFax have user-friendly interfaces that make it easy to send and receive faxes. They have mobile apps available for Android and iOS devices, allowing you to access your faxes on the go.

They also work very well with Google fax, letting you send and receive fax with Gmail.

HIPAA Compliant Faxing

If you work in a healthcare or medical field, HIPAA compliance is crucial. MetroFax and eFax both offer HIPAA-compliant faxing, ensuring that your faxes meet the necessary security and privacy requirements.

If you are going to need HIPAA compliance when sending faxes, make sure to talk to a representative first to get the right documentation and sign up steps.

Digital Signatures

Another important feature to consider is the ability to add electronic signatures to your faxes. MetroFax and eFax both offer eSignature capabilities, allowing you to easily sign and send important documents. eFax implements this feature better when you send faxes from your phone, just drag and drop your digital signature on the fax you've just received and hit resend fax.

Mobile Faxing

Both MetroFax and eFax offer mobile apps for Android and iOS devices, making it convenient to send and receive faxes from your smartphone or tablet.

In this aspect, eFax is the clear winner.  Their app is fast and very intuitive, we have been using it for quite some time and never had a crash on our phones.

Fax Broadcasting

If you need to send faxes to multiple recipients, MetroFax and eFax both offer fax broadcasting capabilities. This allows you to send the same fax to multiple recipients at once, saving you time and effort.

API and Developer Support

If you are a developer or require API integration, both MetroFax and eFax provide API and developer support. This allows you to integrate their services into your existing systems and applications.

Pricing and Plans

When it comes to pricing, MetroFax offers plans starting at $16.95 per month, while eFax offers plans starting at $19.95 per month. Both services also offer free trials, allowing you to test out their features before committing.

With MetroFax, you can send up to 50 pages per month on their Basic plan, 500 pages on their Value plan, and a whopping 1,000 pages on their Professional plan. This allows you to comfortably send a significant amount of documents without worrying about exceeding your usage.

On the other hand, eFax offers even higher limits. With their Plus plan, you can send up to 150 pages per month and also get 150 pages of inbound fax, while their Pro plan allows for a generous 200 pages. This makes eFax an excellent choice if you frequently deal with large volumes of faxing.
